Top Ten Offshore Outsourcing Countries

The “Top Ten List” of offshore outsourcing countries is a list that differs upon which expert is doing the ranking. India has consistently ranked number one among top outsourcing locations, including Forbes’ list in 2004 and AT Kearney’s ’07 list. At the close of 2007, Gartner analysts compiled a list of the top thirty outsourcing companies. Using criteria such as language, government support, labor pool, infrastructure and cost, the list was compiled in order to demonstrate the most desirable locations to outsource in, since according to their analysts, offshore outsourcing will grow 40 percent in the US this year and 60 percent in Europe. In addition to India, consistently among the top ten are also China, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Singapore, Philippines, Brazil, Canada, Chile and Poland. Thailand, Indonesia, Bulgaria and Mexico also appear in top ten lists. The definitive list is an evolving one as needs and demands shift year to year. For example, “near-sourcing” has become a hot trend with the US, with buyers focusing on their neighbors in the Americas for their outsourcing needs.
